the New Apple iPod touch 4th generation

At Apple’s special event this fall, as expected, a massive upgrade to the iPod touch was announced. With the huge success of Apple’s iPhone4, many of its features were due to the iPod touch. We imagine iPod Touch as the iPhonewithout a phone or without a contract.

Apple boosted iPod Touch with almost all the available features such the retina display, A4 chip, dual camera’s, FaceTime, and many more special features.

Powered by Apple’s custom made silicon chip A4, which is 1GHz processor, gives you the most vivid gaming experience on a mobile device. In the special musical event, Apple also introduced the new Gaming center which will be available in the iOS 4.1 version.



The screen shot show above is taken from a game which was demonstrated at the event to show the gaming capabilities of iPod Touch. the game is codenamed as Project sword. Developed by Chair Entertainment, makers of the Xbox Live hit Shadow Complex, this game utilizes the Unreal 3 engine, making it a CPU intensive.

Verdict

With two big improvements in the new iPod Touch, Retina display and the dual cameras. it is expected to sell like hot cakes. the screen size is similar to the iPhone4 : 960×640, 3.5″, the rear camera does record HD video i.e 720p, and the front facing camera which is of course VGA as iPhone4 will be used for the FaceTime.

That means, you can now have a FaceTime between iPod Touch and iPhone4 via Wi-Fi. Steve mentioned that they’re outselling both Nintendo and Sony in gaming and most of the games sold on the iPhone and such are less than $5.
