As a software graduate, I have some personal feeling about the dream job which i would love to do and hence i am taking the most appropriate steps to reach there. So, i decided to share my thought on progressing towards your dream job.
Planning accordingly towards any task is the best step you can take. here you can prepare for the most probably questions that you can expect as a fresher in your first interview.
1. Tell me about yourself
The most common interview question which initiate a discussion and makes you comfortable with the interviewer. this also gives you the opportunity to steer the rest of your interview in your favor.
You can answers this by talking a bit about any work or any of your projects that you have an adequate experience. speak out your lead role experience and show your interest in guiding and motivating others.
The purpose of this question is to initiate a discussion and put you at ease. What it also does is give you the opportunity to steer the rest of the interview in your favor. You should know the right place to put a full stop to provoke the next desired question.
2. What activities did you undertake?
Elaborate a bit more on the your activities and explain clearly what roles you managed and how did you handle it.
3. What are your strengths?
To answer this question well, you need to do your homework before appearing for the interview. Analyze the role, gauge the qualities that are required in a person taking up the role and sell your personal qualities accordingly. For instance, if you are appearing for a position as software development trainee, sell your learning skills and logical abilities.
To make sure that you are able to convince the interviewer, present examples of each quality you quote.
4.Why should we hire you?
Explains the reasons why you are the most appropriate for the job role, compare and contrast your past relevant experience that would be need in the current job description.
5. What relevant skills do you have for this position that make you a good fit for this role?"
This question has the same answers related to why should we hire you ? So, collect understandable data to make your answer more meaningful.
6. What are you doing to overcome your weaknesses?
Freshers might find themselves in a situation where their 'weakness' is actually a matter of concern to the company. If that is the case, this question might just save you. For instance, if you state a short temper or lack of patience as your weakness, what you are doing to overcome it is important. You might have started practicing yoga or meditation to keep your cool. Tell this to the interviewer.
This gives the interviewer an insight into your personality and says that you are a person who is capable of identifying problems, analyzing them and solving them.
7. Are you ambitious? Where do you see yourself five years down the line?
The purpose of this question is to see how big you can think and what career plans you have. The other purpose of this question is to see if you are a serious, focused individual or not.
So, answer this question in a manner that communicates that while you are ambitious, you also value stability and you expect your prospective employer to offer you growth and stability in future.
Apart from these questions you can expect any random questions which depends on the employer.
