Google Update: Now Call from Gmail web client

google_logo[1] Google made an official confirmation on Google voice calls right into Gmail. similar to the integration of Google Chat text, voice and video chat into the web based client previously, now full phone calls will also be an option using VOIP technology.

Google at San Francisco while demonstrating the “Call from Gmail” service, showed the live demo, as Google’s product manager called Paris for just $0.02 a minute.

As usual, when ever you have a incoming call, a pop up appears similar to as a char window and ring you Google voice equipped phones simultaneously. when you press a “Call phone” button that appears near the top of the chat window to send a outbound call, you can copy and paste different numbers and also can tap them manually. sometimes a single tap is enough.

You can enjoy free calls to US and Canada completely free of charge, buying a prepaid credits using  Google Checkout for international landline calling at $0.02.

Google will also be providing free trial calling booths at an airport and pair of universities.
